The Center for Isotope Environmental Dynamics, University of Tsukuba invites applications for the position of Professor as follows

The Center for Isotope Environmental Dynamics at the University of Tsukuba promotes comprehensive research on isotopes, including the measurement of radioactive materials, research on environmental dynamics, and research on the use of radioisotopes in physics, biology, etc. The center also plays a central role in the Joint Research Center for Environmental Radioactivity Network, which is a joint use/joint research center. However, environmental isotope data have not yet been shared or archived. In order to further strengthen the functions required of the Joint Research Center, it is necessary to strengthen the international collaborative research function by integrating data as a basis and to develop the research and development of the Joint Research Center.

The purpose of this call for proposals is to activate research on environmental radioactivity dynamics at the Center by collecting and managing isotope data from Fukushima and other environments around the world, acting as a coordinator in the international community, and acting as a coordinator to integrate isotopes with other research areas. To this end, we are looking for candidates with an outstanding record of research on the transfer of radioactive material in rivers and oceans, as well as experience in collaborative research with international organizations. The successful candidate will be able to maintain and expand the data archive on radioactive material transfer around the world, conduct cutting-edge research based on data analysis, and strengthen the university’s research capabilities through international collaboration and promotion.

[Selection Process]
After screening of documents, interview will be conducted. Only applicants who pass the document screening will be invited for an interview.
The interview will be held within two weeks of the receipt of the application documents.
Travel and accommodation expenses for the interview will be borne by the applicant. Applicants residing outside of Japan may be invited for an online interview.

Qualifications

Compensation
Annual salary (salary and other employment conditions will be in accordance with the University’s regulations)

Salary: Basic salary will be determined in accordance with the University’s regulations.
Working hours: 7 hours 45 minutes per day, 5 days per week, 38 hours 45 minutes per week
