We, ERAN consists of three universities and three institutes, started to publish environmental radioactivity datasets with DOI on 25th July 2019.
CRiES (former CRiED), Univ. of Tsukuba is a publisher of DOI and our services are generally open for archiving, publishing, and re-usage of data regarding with environmental radioactivity before and after Fukushima accident.

All the published dataset as of 8th of January 2025 is listed here.

What is ERAN?

ERAN (Environmental Radioactivity Research Network Center) consists of six organizations: CRiES of Univ. of Tsukuba, IER of Fukushima Univ., and IREM of Hirosaki Univ. as network centers, and JAEA, IES, and NIES as cooperative network centers.
We are convinced that the results of the joint research and international efforts will be critical to the recovery and possible future events.

MESSAGE

Welcome to the ERAN database, managed by the University of Tsukuba's Centre for Research on Radiation, Isotopes, and Earth System Science (CRiES). The University of Tsukuba is proud to contribute to the ERAN project as a DOI issuing authority, fostering the permanent archiving, dissemination, and reuse of a variety of environmental datasets, including those on environmental radioactivity.

This database is dedicated to assigning DOIs to environmental radioactivity data, especially data associated with the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant incident, to ensure their perpetual accessibility. Our goal is to enhance research transparency and the use of data by providing open access to the datasets underpinning scholarly articles. Through our website, you can download datasets released with a DOI. Adhering to the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, you are free to share and adapt the data, provided that proper attribution is given. Additionally, we provide a feature to search for and download the raw data from public datasets, each tagged with its unique DOI name and data ID.

We firmly believe in the indispensable role of collaborative research and international cooperation in driving recovery efforts and addressing future challenges. It is our hope that the data curated here will serve as an invaluable resource for researchers, policymakers, and the wider community.
