2015年9月30日15:00より、環境動態予測部門会議室にて中国科学院大気物理研究所の艾麗坤(Ailikun.)教授をお迎えしてセミナーが開催されました。博士は本学の気象学研究室を卒業され、近年は中国の気候変動研究プロジェクトMAIRSの事務局にて中心的な役割を果たしてこられました（参加人数12名）。
演題：From Climate Change Research to Sustainability Science: Future Earth in China
概要：
The arising of climate change research 30 years ago provided tremendous opportunity to multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary studies in observation, analysis and modeling to understand the earth system changes in water, land, air and ecosystem in different regions of the world. Along with the rapid socio-economic development in lots of developing countries like China and India, the impact of climate change and pathways to sustainable development becomes the main concern for policy makers and publics. To support the global sustainability, the trans-disciplinary study between natural and social sciences is strongly promoted by international science community such as ICSU (International Science Council) and ISSC (International Social Science Council). Future Earth is a 10-year programmee launched as an international initiative to promote research for global sustainability by the international science and technology alliance from 2014.

In this talk, we will:
1) review the key scientific issues, past achievements, experiences of global change research
in Asian region;
2) find out the gaps to sustainability science;
3) introduce the ongoing activity and future plan of Future Earth in China.
